Our Guide to Broadbeach: Part 2
Last month, in Our Guide to Broadbeach: Part 1, we discovered the exciting local attractions of Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, The Star Casino, Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant and the Gold Coast Light Rail.
But with so much on offer in Broadbeach we’ve come back with Part 2!
Kurrawa Pratten Park
Located on the foreshore of Kurrawa Broadbeach is one of the best kid’s playgrounds on the Gold Coast! The playground boast three themed zones: sandcastle, undersea and the hill. Kids will love scaling the hill only to come zooming back down again on the 2 longs slides built into the ground. They can also let their imaginations run wild in the giant sandcastle and colourful submarine.
Bring a picnic to enjoy under the shade of a tree, or head over to the new Kurrawa Surf Club for dining with amazing waterfront views and bistro style meals.
Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre
Built in 2004 the GCCEC is a state-of-the-art events centre (the largest of it’s kind in regional city in Australia) that features a large main arena, four exhibition halls, and a series of meeting rooms that can hold from an intimate gathering for 10 up to 6,000 people! The GCCEC plays host to a number of sporting events, concerts, exhibitions, expos, banquets and special events.
There’s a footbridge connecting the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre with The Star Casino – perfect for a pre-show meal or drink. Check out the what’s on guide before your visit to see what’s on. (If you are a comic or gaming fan then Supanova, usually held sometime in April, is a must!)
Rotary Carousel and Broadbeach Mall
Right in the heart of Broadbeach, outside of The Oasis Shopping Centre, there’s a vintage 120 year old Carousel that’s operated by the Rotary Club of Southport. The kids will love choosing their favourite horse and riding this charming carousel, and it will only set you back a few dollars!
Checking out one of the many cafes, restaurants or bars in Broadbeach – there’s something on offer for every taste and budget.
Broadbeach – beach!
It wouldn’t be a trip to the Gold Coast without a visit to the beach, and Broadbeach won’t disappoint. Swim in the ocean, surf, build sandcastles, take a stroll or just lay back, relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Sun screen, water and a hat! We also recommend that you only swim when the beaches are being patrolled - between the flags.
