Our Guide to Broadbeach: part 1
Broadbeach or ‘Broadie’ as it’s affectionately called by the locals, is the perfect accommodation choice for a Gold Coast Holiday. Centrally located, Broadbeach offers the convenience of being able to enjoy the very best of the region from beaches, to theme parks, to the natural beauty of the Hinterland, and is also a destination with a lot to offer locally. We’ve put together a list of some of our favourite Broadbeach attractions and things to do to help you plan your Gold Coast adventure.
Pacific Fair Shopping Centre really needs to get a spot on your to-do list, the ‘mega-mall’ is a result of a $670million refurbishment; with in excess of 400 stores, multiple dining precincts, entertainment options (including iPlay and an Event Cinema complex) and plenty of cool places to relax your legs during the day it’s more of an experience than a shopping mall.
We recommend: Grab a coffee and head to The Resort area to enjoy the lounge chairs, fountains, free WiFi and chilled resort style vibe.
The Star (formerly known at Jupiters)
9 dining options – 6 bars – 70 table games – 1600 machines and a long list of amazing shows and performances on offer. We think those numbers speak for themselves!
We recommend: Food Fantasy buffet is always a crowd pleaser, and great if you are travelling with kids or have a group dining together. There’s always a great line up of shows so be sure to check out there What’s On guide before your visit.
Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant
When the doors creak open to Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant each night, a theatre full of unsuspecting guests are thrown into a world of intrigue, wicked comedy and edgy entertainment. All served up with devilishly good fun and sinful three course meal. Not for the feint at heart, this show is restricted to guys and ghouls over the age of 15! But for the little monsters Dracula’s also offers a special kid performance each Saturday called ‘Drax for Kids’.
We recommend: Going! Book your Dracula's Gold Coast tickets and enjoy the fun!
Gold Coast Light Rail
The Gold Coast Light Rail has 19 stops that span from Broadbeach to Helensvale. Along the way you can hop off at numerous amazing destinations to really get a feel for life on the Gold Coast. Plus, it’s an easy, affordable and no fuss way of getting around.
We recommend: Ride the G to Surfers Paradise and enjoy a meal at the world-famous Hard Rock Café then hit some of the attractions such as Infinity, the Wax Museum, Ripley’s Believe it or Not and TimeZone. If you’re looking for something a little more off the tourist track – stay on right up to Helensvale and blend in with the locals at the NightQuarter Markets open every Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 10pm. Check out G:Link to plan your journey!
Broadbeach is so much fun that we can’t possibly cover it all in just one article! Stay tuned for Our Guide to Broadbeach – part 2, next month!
