1 – Catch a wave
If you love the beach then why not try your hand at surfing one of Australia’s most famous beaches? Surfers Paradise Surfing is a fantastic way to get up on a board and catching waves with a 2 hour surf lesson in the warm Gold Coast waters. You are provided with a beginner’s board, a leg-rope and your choice of a wetsuit or rashie. All you’ll need to take is some sunscreen, water, a change of clothes and a sense of adventure (booking required).
2 – Get your thrills on incredible rides
Spend a day or several days and experience the Gold Coast’s incredible theme parks. You can choose from Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, Sea World, Movie World and Wet’n’Wild.
Book through Capricornia to receive some amazing discounts. Your biggest decision is going to be what rides, entertainment and thrills you want to experience so why not choose a multi-park pass and experience them all (booking required).
3 – BBQ by the pool, in the park or at the beach!
Summer is not complete without a BBQ at the beach with family and friends. Grab some seafood or your favourite BBQ meat, some salads and other supplies from the nearby Oasis Shopping Centre or Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and take advantage of one of the many barbecues located along the Gold Coast foreshore. We have an onsite BBQ poolside for guest use. There are also free BBQs just across the road at Federation Park and several in Kurrawa Park on the foreshore. Take a picnic blanket and a ball and spend a few hours relaxing and taking in the relaxed Gold Coast summer vibe.
4 – Get a bird’s eye view of the Gold Coast
If you aren’t afraid of heights and love the rush of adrenaline then you can’t go past SkyPoint Climb. This is the ultimate sightseeing experience as you’ll be able to see the entire Gold Coast and the hinterland from the top of the Q1 building, which is the highest residential building in the world. In this 90 minute experience climbers suit up and put on a harness, cap and communication equipment then climb the stairs up the massive spire on the top of the building, holding onto a handrail. If you dare you can walk along the edge of the building with the incredible 270 metre drop below. Climbs operate from 9am daily (bookings required).
5 - Spend a day exploring the Gold Coast
Spend a day exploring on the Hop on Hop Off Ferry. There’s a load to see on the Gold Coast but one of the best ways to really see this amazing location is from the water. Sit back and enjoy the warm summer breezes as you sail past incredible waterfront homes, and watch birdlife playing at the water’s edge. With the day pass you can get on and off at some fantastic locations. Take a walk through Appel Park Wharf with its beautiful views or take in a show or movie at HOTA (Home of the Arts) at Surfers Paradise. Enjoy a seafood extravaganza lunch or a spot of shopping at Marina Mirage or spend the day at Sea World at Main Beach. Last but not least relax at Broadwater Parklands at Southport. The Parklands feature BBQs, cafes, a kid’s bouncy pillow, a Rockpool Water Playground with loads of water features, playgrounds and great places to have a picnic. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy everything these locations have to offer. The Ferry operates from 9am to 6pm daily and tickets are on a first come first-served basis.
